Are you also going to do Rapunzel and the new princess Merida (from the movie Brave)? That would complete the entire pricess collection and would make a wonderful quilt for her ;) Thank you again, cant wait to start Ariel!

    1. I saw the paper piece that you did of your fathers mom and it was beautiful. Do you do these personal pictures for clients? I'm currently working on the Disney Princess' that you post patterns for and thought it would be a neat addition to add my daughter too. If you could email me annakossen@hotmail.com that would be great if you are willing to do this and how much you would charge. Thank you

  20. How about Minnie? Could she slip into the Disney Princess group? OH!... More work for you... how about Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc...for a boy quilt? Pretty Please. Yeah, we keep adding more and more requests. Like you can just put them on your short little to do list, Must be miles long already, Ha. I will probably be just like so many others on here saying their little girl is an adult now and finally getting around to making her princess quilt. LOL. Thanks again and where can we link up pics of the ones we have actually completed? C

Have been trying to make an adjustment to the Rapunzel so that it captures the curl in the front of her hair so it isn't so flat but don't have your experience drafting patterns. Also noticed that Jasmine doesn't print out with any color or piecing numbers. Is that because it is a test pattern? One more question-Do you have a link where I can see more of the finished pieces your fans have made? It would give me more ideas for fabric choices. Thanks for the work you put into them. 24. I am working on Aurora and I'm confused on piece D am I paper piecing on and sewing the two parts together or taping then before adding the fabric???? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am a bit confused by your question - you sew all of the pieces in section D then you sew all the pieces in section B and then you sew section B and D together and this becomes piece 1. Let me know if I haven't answered your question.

      Delete
    2. On the pattern D is in 2 parts with white space after D6 & D7 on the first part that made me confused on how to then attach D8 & D9 on the second part. So I was wondering if I attach the fabric to the two parts and then sew them together to get rid of the white piece or do I tape the two parts together first along the sewing line between D6, D7 & D8 and then sew on the fabric. Hope that makes sense and thank you.

      Delete
    3. sorry for the confusion - join the paper together and eliminate the white sections before you sew the fabric on. I keep it white so you can see where to overlap the pieces. I usually glue as tape can stick to the iron.

      Delete
    4. I'm sorry... I'm still stuck. It looks as if I need to flip the paper upside down for D8 and D9 for it to match right to D6 and D7. The picture shows that it is in a straight line but when I try to match it it goes crooked if both sides of the paper are right sides up???? Thanks.

      Delete
    5. Ok worked out the problem - the white piece next to D6/D7 should be dark yellow - then the white sections line up no problems

      Delete
  25. So I'm new to paper piecing and I want to use these patterns to make a quilt for a friend's daughter. I don't know how much of each colour of material to buy for each pattern. I know I can measure each piece and figure it out that way but that will take a very, very long time. Do you have any recommendations?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have a huge stash of tone on tone fabrics for my paper piecing, In the beginning you tend to be a bit wasteful with the fabric especially pieces on the diagonal. However as a guide you won't ever need more than a fat quarter for the hair, skin or background. Other pieces - lips, eyes etc you need only scraps. Having said that every eye has white and black so a fat quarter of each will last for many eyes.

  26. Hi Michelle!
I'm new to the designing process and was wondering what program do you use? I would love to know how you get all the colors on your individual pieces. I love all your patterns and have used many of them as inspiration and quilts! As a matter of fact, when I planned out my 7 dwarves patterns, I used your Snow White and Prince in my final quilt--I'm getting the pictures to "Fandom" soon. If you would, can you email me your answer at: schwarzthomas@hotmail.com
