Necessity is the mother of Invention

Lovely Elizabeth has been testing some patterns for me and I have loved the results.  The other day she had a dilema - what to do when the fabric you are using for the hair is not going to be enough to finish the block - well just adjust the pattern to fit the fabric that you have.  Let me introduce Prarie Dawn - the latest in my Sesame Street collection.  You will have a choice of 2 version - curly hair or straight hair.  I love them both.  Thanks Elizabeth. It's Baby Bear - Telly Monsters best friend.  Please welcome him to the Sesame Street gang.

Little Bird and Kami

We have Bird Bird now let me introduce Little Bird from Sesame Street. 

 

I have another friend helping me test patterns and according to her she is only a beginner in the world of paper piecing. Her name is Karolina and she is from Poland - all I can say is she did an amazing job.    Karolina also has her own blog, where you can see some of crafy endeavours.

Celine has also sewn another wonderful sample for me - Kami.  Kami appears on the Nigerian and South African versions of Sesame Street.  Her character is HIV positive due to a blood transfusion she received as an infant.  She was introduced to foster understanding of those with AIDS or were HIV positive.

Kami has made appearances at UNICEF events, at the Peabody Awards in 2005, several Sesame Workshop Benefits and the United Nations for Worlds AIds Day.

New Sesame Street Patterns

Here are the latest in my Sesame Street patterns.  I have no time at the moment to test anything so I have two wonderful friends helping me - Celine and Amber.  Amber has done the yellow faced Guy Smiley and Celine has done the others you see below.  I hope you like them.  Hopefully if all goes to plan you will see them also on fandominstitches.com very soon as well as the Sesame Street pattern section of this blog.

The Beginning

I have always done craft in some form - knitting, crochet, embroidery and of course sewing.   There have also been forays into paper making, beading, drawing and painting.  In recent years my time has been taken up with quilting and cross stitch.

I am always designing and I am completely addicted to paper piecing.

I am a regular designer on fandominstitches.com.  This is a wonderful website run by Jennifer Ofenstein (of sewhooked.com fame).  Fandom In Stitches is a not for profit, fan run site that provides free quilt patterns based on multiple fandoms.
